What are the risks?

As with any injection, there maybe a small risk of bleeding/ joint infection (likely to occur in less than 1:1000 people).  At the clinic we make every effort to reduce the risk of infection using sterile equipment and techniques and antiseptics.

While every precaution is taken, there may be a transient flare of stiffness, pain and mild swelling.  This generally responds well to paracetamol, rest and ice packs. Improvements may be noticed within the first few weeks.
